The Effective HR Manager

Jeremy Francis began his career with Lloyds Bank in Commercial Banking in 1966.

In 1971 he was appointed an instructor at the Bank’s Training Centre creating and delivering banking related courses over the next two years. After returning to Commercial Banking, he was appointed as a School’s Liaison Officer working out of Lloyds’ Head office in Lombard Street and delivering talks on banking careers in secondary schools and career conventions in the Central and Greater London area.

In 1978 he joined Bankers Trust Company in London as their first Training Manager for UK and Europe. Over the next 3 ½ years, he built up the function which was responsible for delivery of training programs on Credit, Economics, Foreign Trade, Investment Management and Management Skills. He was also responsible for Graduate Recruitment and Job Evaluation as well as running programs for overseas correspondent bankers.

In 1982 he became a self-employed consultant, specialising in Organisation Development, HR Development and the delivery of bespoke in-house courses on Leadership, Management, Performance Management, Sales, Account Management and Personal Effectiveness to blue chip corporates including Lazard Brothers, S G Hambros, Newton Investment Management, Bank of England, Shell, Kimberly Clarke, BOC, Astra Zeneca, Oxford University Press, Mazda Cars, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the NHS. IN 1985 he formed Rhema Group which employed consultants and trainers in the delivery of programs worldwide.

Over the next 25 years he became a key note speaker at HR conferences in London, Moscow and Dubai. His videos have over a million views on YouTube and he has written 7 books.

In 2010 with the decline in in-company instruction led training, he switched his expertise into running online virtual classrooms, creating an online e-commerce shop selling training materials and providing consultancy and training at high levels to selected clients. In 2015 he formed Constantior to expand the online training business.

Jeremy lives in Gillingham, Kent, is married with three grown up children. His interests include travel, walking, writing, old property restoration and following Portsmouth Football Club.
